United Dream Rivers Services supports families in Johannesburg's informal settlements with relief, education, and housing advocacy.
THE
REALITY
For thousands in Kya Sand and surrounding settlements, home means fragile shelters, shared taps, and constant uncertainty. Fires and flooding can erase a family's stability overnight.

DIGNITY IS
PRACTICAL
It looks like a warm blanket the night after a fire. Dry firewood to cook with. A child back at school. We don't deal in slogans — we deal in the small, concrete things that let a family stand back up.
See the impactBEYOND THE
SHACK
Corrugated iron and plastic sheeting were never meant to last a lifetime. We're piloting portable, modular housing units in Kya Sand — manufactured off-site and quick to assemble on site, built to replace the shack with something safe, dignified, and permanent.
- Portable & modular — assembled on site in days, not months
- Built for less than traditional brick-and-mortar construction
- Scalable from a single unit to an entire settlement
- A pipeline designed for investors and corporate partners
After the fire, we lost everything. UDRS came with food and blankets—and they kept showing up.— Resident, Kya Sand
